Polaris is built with a privacy-first approach.
We do not sell or rent any data, and the app does not use cookies or third-party software to show advertisements. Apart from the crash reports described below, nothing leaves your device.
All data created by the user is stored on the device only and can be simply erased by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the application.
Polaris can request access to the microphone to record audio samples.
Recordings are made only when you start them, are stored on the device only, and are never transmitted.
To keep the app stable, we use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to collect crash reports. When the app crashes, it sends the crash log (stack trace and state of the app), diagnostic information about the device (model, Android version, available memory and storage) and a random installation identifier generated by Crashlytics.
This data is sent over an encrypted connection, is used solely to fix bugs, and is kept for 90 days before being automatically deleted. It does not include your name, account, location or your recordings, and the identifier is not linked to your identity. Google processes it on our behalf (see Firebase privacy information).
Polaris is considered "kid safe".
